December 2015 Editor's Note: Just Let the Beats Rock
As we enter the last month of the year, I've noticed more and more how similar life can be to listening to the beats of some of your favorite songs. In most cases, the beat is what captures my attention first. Then, I get into the words and how they seamlessly connect with the tunes for a perfect melody. I either just listen closely, give a nod along with the sounds played, or bust out dancing. Whatever happens, it is almost always a stimulating experience. Life can be the same way. We come into situations with open ears, and believe it or not the loud background music is what attracts us first. Then, you look in a little closer and you decide whether you are just going to nod and keep it moving or put a routine together to dance all over an enticing beat. What about when you get to the bridge (turning point) of that song and you are not sure whether to bounce left, right, or switch gears all together? Contrary to popular belief, there's nothing wrong with having that feeling. You wouldn't walk in a shoe store and just pick out the first thing you see, make a purchase, and be content with your decision. You would go in, look around a bit, try on a few selections, find your size, and select the best choice. It works the same way when finding your beat or your passion. Sometimes, you have to wiggle around to find that perfect rhythm, and there's absolutley nothing wrong with that.
Pray. Plan. Perfect.
