November 2015 Editor's Note: It's a Celebration!
One year ago, I decided to take my blog to the next level. My previous website, 2 Snaps & A Twist, was something I started a few years ago for a digital media related course taken during my senior year at Hampton University. It was a requirement that you created a blog. What started out as more of an "assignment" toward attaining my degree in journalism & communications, turned more into something I began to have a fatal attraction to. I couldn't get enough of this platform that allowed me to freely write, express myself, and have a lot of damn fun. It didn't feel forced. It didn't feel fake. But, it did feel outrageously fabulous! Fast forward about a year later after graduating, I've had the opportunity to work for two amazing magazines---something I dreamed and prayed about that actually came true. I have met tons of cool people who are still close to me today, learned so much, grew up, and emerged right along with the industry that became somewhat of an extended family. However, with all the good that came with that, there was something that continually brought me back to blogging. That meant a lot to me, and as I began to think harder and harder about it, I said to myself, "it's time to give this passion project of mine a little upgrade." Hence, there was a name change, more collaborations, better photography, and blogging with more of a "personal touch" became the backbone of my content. I can't say it is "just yet" everything I want it to be and more, but I am trying my hardest to fine tune, build, and turn it into the only website you will want to read (wink, wink)! I would be a fool to say it is an easy walk in the park. There are a lot of learning curves and many moments where I've even been ready to throw in the towel. But for some strange reason, I think there may be a little angel on my shoulder forcing me to keep the pages of this diary turning. That alone, calls for quite the celebration!
I can't wait to share what's to come, stay tuned for lots more!
