BEANIE BABE

It’s that time again where the weather feels like “Brrrr” (sp.?), and we are all beginning to wonder how to keep it cute when all the frigid temps have us thinking, “Why am I outside again?” I have learned the keys are to just lay it all on thick and pay closer attention to smaller details.

Begin by selecting a top-notch coat or jacket.  If you are going to invest in anything well worth it, it needs to be outerwear as it sometimes can become far more important than the snazzy outfit underneath it all.  Go for a coat that’s an earth tone, black, or white hue that can transcend from topping a casual Saturday outfit or even an dolled-up date night fit.  I love a lot of the selects available at Topshop and Urban Outfitters. Saving my coins!  Another smart idea is to always carry along a neutral-toned beanie, and texting gloves. Also, don’t forget to layer, layer, layer!  It is not rocket science for me to advise you to do so, but throwing on clothing items such as a camisole and opaque stockings are warming seams that can become your saving grace when a huge bear coat is simply a no-go. Last, but not least, it’s all in the details my friends. Throwing on fun accessories, a conversation-starter handbag, and hints of glitzy razzle-dazzle here and there can take your look from 0 to 100. Real quick.  During the colder months, try rocking with a lighter accent bag, as you will already be wearing heavier clothing.  I love this  stylish tufted stunner (above) from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

What are your seasonal shift style tips?  I would love to know and share! Drop me a line.
